Our Dual-Vintage, Single-Village Brut Nature is created without added sugar. It is the purest expression of our terroir in BOUZY Grand Cru in the Montagne de Reims. Sun-soaked chalk soils and hillsides, bordered by forest and caressed by cool evening winds providing natural thermal regulation for optimal growing conditions.
Forthright and pure, with abundant finesse and freshness. Citrus notes, white peach and sweet orange peel. Minerality and salinity.
2018 Domaine Pierre Girardin Volnay
Pierre-Vincent Girardin is the 13th generation of his family to make wine in Burgundy. He grew up learning in the cellar of his father, Vincent Girardin, from a very young age. When the elder Girardin sold his domaine in 2011, he made sure to keep 4.5 hectares of his best sites to one day pass on to his son. In 2017, Pierre-Vincent made his first vintage and announced himself as a rising talent in Burgundy. His father’s extensive contacts in Burgundy allowed Pierre-Vincent to supplement his domaine vineyards through long term contracts with top growers who hold his meticulous viticultural philosophy.

Simplicity. A word, a concept, a notion bandied about with great appeal and aspiration, but often without the knowledge of how to achieve it. For our small team at Ceritas led by the husband and wife duo of John and Phoebe Raytek, simplicity means allowing our vineyards to be the teachers, with us as the students. It means the ongoing process of listening to and learning from each site, every vintage, to discover and share what that site is capable of expressing. It means honoring our commitment with our grower partners to farm every vineyard sustainably and organically.
Through observation, vintage after vintage, we are continually reminded of the simple principal that most of the important work occurs in the vineyard, and the role of the winemaker is to allow the vineyard to express itself in a balanced, inimitable wine.
